I have a 2008R2 Server that was P2V'd several years ago using DSK2VHD.
This is hosted on a 2012R2 Hyper-V Server.
There is one Dynamically expanding drive C:\ which has a Max size of 250Gb and a Current file size of 150Gb, therefore there is 100Gb free.
I noticed that there is a huge (1Tb) AVHD file associated with this Server, which seem to grow about 1Gb every hour.
There are no checkpoints present and if I shut the Server down, it merges the data from the AVHD in to the VHD and the AVHD disappers as expected.
Why is an AVHD file being created which keeps growing when there is still 100Gb free on the Dynamically expanding disk?
How do I stop this happening?
Cheers guys 😉
