Hi,

Is there anyway on Server 2012/2016 to select which updates you want to install, like you used to be able to do in 2008 etc? We have 5 updates pending install. One is SQL SP1 (which we can't and don't want to install), but it seems you are stuck with an all or nothing these days. We are not using WSUS and don't want to have to deploy it to work around this,.

I have read online regarding this, but thought I would see if you guys have any thoughts.

Cheers

I guess you can run sconfig.cmd (used on Core) on full GUI server too. From there, 6 -> A, then selectively install the updates you want.
Not very comfortable if you're performing updates regularly and on multiple servers.

Another way would be to use the 'Hide or show Updates Troubleshooter' http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f22d5fdb-59cd-4275-8c95-1be17bf70b21/wushowhide.diagcab
