I just upgraded to Outlook 2016 and use a hosted exchange server for my mail.  Guess what?  Outlook 2016 does not allow you to manually configure an exchange server.  What a huge frustration.

https://www.slipstick.com/outlook/exchange-account-set-up-missing-in-outlook-2016/

My question is, what do other people do in this situation?

I downgraded to Office 2010.  Since Office 2013 is no longer being sold, what will people do?

Thoughts?

Get themselves a hosting provider who understands how to publish Autodiscover.

Microsoft comes to mind, but there certainly are other, smaller players. I am sure forum members from your part of the world will chime in shortly and name some.

The thing is that autodiscover records were optional until exchange2016/outlook2016 came along and it became mandatory, so they rmoved the option to fill in the serverconfig yourself. So the best way is to get an autodiscover record foryour emaildomain. You can workaround this by creating an autodiscover record yourself in your hosts file, but you will have to do this on each system where you use outlook. You could also use outlook2013.

I have never heard that Autodiscover song!  [biggrin]

Also, how to find Outlook 2013?  I couldn't find it and had to purchase/install Outlook 2016.  There were no files on Microsoft's site for Office 2013, that I could find.  Had I found it, I would have installed it, instead of Outlook 2010.
