For reference
A silent Nmap scan is nmap 192.168.0.198 -T0 -p- -sS
But its slow (1 probe every 5 minutes, and only 1 probe at a time) So it can take quite some time

A silent OS scan is nmap 192.168.0.198 -T0 -O -sS

But again slow...it starts

namp1.JPG
Nmap does something 10 minutes later
nmap5.JPG

And yeah - it does something 5 minutes later

nmap6.JPG

But we have no OS info yet and 3 packets sent.

Now we have 2 threads that ended up on the same topic, so I'll answer here in an attempt to leave the "Too Funny" thread about Trump & American imperialism.

Wobble, John's OP said nothing about noise, stealth or sent packet limit.  It was simply a script for OS detection. I don't know what all the noise is about noise. It doesn't matter to me who uses nmap & who doesn't.
