anyone know how to test for the presence of orphaned sids and removing them?

Also, is there another forum I should be going to as Mark's forum doesn't seem to have much activity on it since retirement. [frown]

Thanks!

Hi,

there are some scripts on the Gallery that do the job:

https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/Remove-orphaned-SIDs-from-2231b1f0
https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/Remove-orphaned-unresolvabl-2ebca3eb

As to another Forum... well, in terms of community Spirit, there is not and there will not be anything like the 'old' Minasi Forum, that's for sure. As to obtaining community help with technical issues... well TechNet has got WAY better than it used to be ten years ago.

Thanks CJ for the information. My boss wants me to create orphan sids to test the scripts. Is there a way to do that? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sure, create a folder and an account, give the account explicit permissions on that folder, then delete the account.
