Ok, it's - 5 in Chicago but it's 12 this morning in my area outside of Atlanta.
Glad I work from home.

I moved 400 miles south of Chicago partly to escape this *bleep.* But yeah one thermometer says -5 today and the other days -9.

Nothing quite like having horses to care for and your only source of water goes dead with negative digits on the way.  I put some lidded totes in the back of my truck and drove 12 miles to my parents house to steal 60 gallons of water from them last night.  Hand carried buckets out to the horses' trough.  All while it was 5 degrees.  Thank goodness zippered pocket gloves and those little chemical heat packs!

Fortunately I have water again this morning, so HOPEFULLY that was a one and only event!!!

I awoke to 30 degrees F. I live in Jacksonville, FL. There is a reason this place is called the Sunshine State, but someone forgot to tell the weatherman today!!!

I'm in NY & while it's only 5 degrees colder here, the winds are 25 MPH & the snow is blowing horizontally. You're a lucky guy.

The winter is really showing who's boss.   Imagine how the cold affects technology.    In the south building codes to not require depth and insulation like in the north.    We have to leave faucets going all night and now during the day.  It reminds me of the "nothings going to happen" comment right before an accident.

Yes, We have to spend the money and time to prepare for every contingency.

I use to here people in San Diego complain about the cost of having firemen and machinery for fires.

They drained water reserves to build houses for a quick buck.

Well!!!!!!!!!!!
