Have bought and luckily dealt with nothing but Dell for years.  Inherited an HP Proliant (oh EXCUSE ME HPE not HP).  What a piece of trash this entire ecosystem is.

Can't even download friggin drivers for this POS without registered for an account AND assigning the hardware to your account.  How absurd is that?

Slogged through horrible support and finally got that sorted, only to get this lovely message:
"Thank you for your order request - we are reviewing the details. When the review is complete, you will receive an email notification asking you to proceed with creating your order."

The Indian guys on the line can't d/l it either, they get the same message.  How f'd up is this ridiculous BS.

yup....and I work for a HPE Gold Partner.

Tape drive frigged, no support account, no warranty, no new firmware

Have you tried turning it off and walking away? The next person can fix it!

I feel your pain.

I've used Compaq > HP > HPE for years and have generally been very happy, but in the past few years not so! I can't get BIOS updates now without support contracts, drivers updates are now extremely difficult (my trusty Version Control Repository Manager software doesn't seem to work anymore). etc. etc.
