Hi,

I have a VM in Azure that has RDP disabled in Windows. Is there a way I can enable it so I can gain RDP access?

Thanks

PT

Sure. What kind of access have you got to that VM?

Hi,

I can't RDP in to the VM at the moment of course, but I have full control of the VM in Azure itself. Maybe it can be enabled via powershell or and AZ command?

Thanks 😉

Is RDP disabled or is the port being blocked?

You can use powershell to enable RDP:
Set-ItemProperty -Path 'HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server'-name "fDenyTSConnections" -Value 0

You can see if the local firewall blocks traffic by examining the output of  'get-NetFirewallRule -DisplayGroup "Remote Desktop"'
