Broadcom has been trying to acquire Qualcomm. They aren't having an easy time. I don't know if it matters to the end user but something tells me that it could matter. Aside from the financial offers & counter offers, the Feds say that it's a threat to National Security. Personally, I think that acquisitions of that size result in less jobs. That's enough of a reason to deny it.

Apparently, no one really cared but Trump blocked the deal. However, Apple still has a lawsuit against Broadcom. They claim that they are overcharging for their chips. I don't expect that anyone cares about that either.

...whereas Apple are apparently giving their product away almost for free in their struggle for a better world. ;-)

Good point! Apple shouldn't complain about high prices. Someone should sue them.
