We are wanting to run Windows Server 2012r2, SQL 2008r2, and have some SQL 2005 instances running in compatibility mode.
Has anyone done this or are doing this currently? If you are, are there any issues? Thanks in advance! __________________ Phil

SQL 2005 will not run on Windows Server 2012 R2. That's just simply out of the question. The highest version of Windows you can run SQL 2005 on is Windows Server 2008.
See this article here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506(v=sql.90).aspx You can; however, run SQL 2008 R2 on Windows Server 2012 R2: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506(v=sql.105).aspx So you can have a Windows Server 2012 R2 domain; however, you will have to maintain a Windows Server 2008 machine for SQL 2005 until you can migrate off of SQL 2005.
