Congratulations Mark, and thank you for helping me make a living for the past 17 years. I will be close behind you. Now you should be able to concentrate on writing something like, "The Rise and Fall of Microsoft...?"

I've retired twice and just couldn't stay down.
My third will be the final one and I plan to roam the country in an RV and write.
About 85% (as I see it) of Millennials have a terrible work ethic and many companies are seeing this so they are re-hiring us old farts.
If you haven't seen it, Google "Simon Sinek - Millennials in the Workplace" and you might want to watch a few other of his videos...the guy knows what he is talking about.

Mark, you have been a good leader to many, and the service you provided here has been a TREMENDOUS help to many people (including me).
I wish you the VERY best life has to offer in retirement.
I also recommend you have some fun hobbies, as it will make your retirement fun and fulfilling.
All the best!

Thank you Phil!

Lots of places to see in my new home in Dunnellon FL, so I'm looking forward to that.  I mean, I've always wanted to see Miami and Baton Rouge before they're under water. [smile]

Thanks for participating in the forum -- stay well.

Mark

I grew up in Florida...didn't know you moved here.
Look up these places in your next several years of retirement:

Cedar Key
Crawfordville and Wakulla Springs (good seafood and kayaking)
Crystal River
Sanibel Island
Tarpon Springs
Santa Rosa Beach (white sands)
Delray Beach
Destin
Mount Dora (lots of small nick-nack shops here)
St. Augustine (only 30 min south of me, so we go there often, and it's the oldest city in America)
Apalachicola
Amelia Island (we live 30 min south of this island and go there often)
Of course, you should probably go see the normal attractions at Orlando and go see the Keys, but you need to pick your times carefully as you do not want to go in the middle of the tourist season.
Have fun!

Mark,

First off, congrats on the future retirement.

Secondly, I want to thank you for all that you've done for the IT community. Your book "Mastering Windows Server 2003" was my first book and solely responsible for where I am today and a tech professional.

It was with the help of that book that I brought up my first domain and Active Directory network. Then with these forums and the great group of folks here, my knowledge continued (and continues) to expand.

I still have a picture of you and I and Ron (RIP) at the San Diego WinConnections. That was the highlight of my career. I learned so much that week. I still think about it often.

I was sad that I never go out to one of the Minasi forum get-togethers there in NC.

Thanks again for everything!

Mark, I agree with Michael! Do you even realize how many people's lives you've affected in a positive way?
I am one as well. Thank you so much.

Well, there's all these cool wildlife-y places here in Florida to explore, the coolest river in the world in my backyard, maybe get another degree... [smile]

Thanks, Anne, I hope all is well with you.  Stay happy and healthy!

Thank you very much for the kind thought, Michael, but I was just the conduit.  You know what they say -- "those who can do, those who can't, teach," and you had the gray matter to get things done.  You just needed a little start, as was the case with everyone here.

Stay well, I'm sure you're not rid of me yet!  [smile]

Thanks very much, Phil.  When I make it over to your side of the peninsula, let's grab lunch or a beer.

Congrats on your impending retirement Mark [smile]

I've been a member of this (and the old) forum since the early 2000s and it has been so much help to me and others.

I hope to see you here on the Forum still?

Also, I guess you will have more time for Photography soon, so would love to see new pics posted here [smile]

Mr Mark congrats on your retirement. I guess a new chapter begins in linux? Kidding [smile] i don't know what to say in this situation i guess a good luck says it all. I have been here for years and if it wasn't for your forum i wouldn't meet all this cool people helping me around and making me feel like home.

Good luck again.
