What's the wildest deployment tools you've tried, use or found?

We use SmartDeploy to perform a real SysPrep after image deployment. They're a small company up near Redmond that maintain "driver packs" for laptops, and generic hardware, laptops, servers ect.. from the major vendors. Build a custom image in vmware player or virtual box, capture the image into a wim and blend with a driver pack and the network bootable image will install to the platforms of your choice.

The next most exciting tool I've heard of is boot over http(s) using a custom linux image and hand off to Winpe to complete the install.. I've also just run steady state machines with windows this way.

I'm really kind of curious to see if people have done even cookier things, more creative and exotic.. iSCSI boots are cool too.. but how far out on the fringe can you get Windows to boot?

I hear tale of a Javascript booted WinPE that can image from a browser window.. but I haven't done it myself.

We have always just done plain 'ol WDS, but I finally got around to loading up MDT 2013 and have been playing around.  I can see some scenarios where it might be helpful (mostly in offline/small branch areas where we don't have WDS as an option)...

MDT/WDS/SCCM here, it works, could be easier and handle drivers a bit better but once configured it is rock solid stable.

I use a Windows based boot disk http://lsoft.net/bootdisk.aspx

....to take disk images of and reapply images to machines. Has worked well for me in the past since I only reimage maybe once a year.

When we get in new machines (not that often) I can do a dozen a day.

That SmartDeploy looks nice but still costs too much.

FOG ; https://fogproject.org/

Have used it for schools or where the hardware is rather static and not to many different models to deal with.

Outside of that and for the day to day real work and job, MDT/WDS/SCCM
