Hello

we use roaming profiles.

when users log on they see all the printers they have used regardless of where in the school they are.  Is it possible to show only the printer in their room?

Thanks

Are the workstations stationary? If so than you could do a user printer assignment based on location

GPO Preferences and item level targeting.

You can assign a printer to a computer and users will see it when logging on the the computer. That's the prefered way. It saves a lot of hassle for the users because the printer is not in their profile

I have tried to use GPP by assigning the printer to the user object.  You have to disable the Point and Print policy for this to work but it does not work for non admin users.  I tried by applying to the computer object same result.

If it does not work then it is probably because an xml file is corrupt and you can fix this by deleting the file but I can't find the file on the windows 7 pc.  There is a hot fix but when i tried to apply it it said the hot fix is not applicable.
