Guys i hope its not a silly questions but here we go.

We have a e-mail server hosted in our isp provider. In this example i will be the recipient.  A Customer sends me an e-mail. I check my pop3 account using Microsoft outlook and see i have not received the mail. I check the junk folder and nothing. I login to the e-mail server and i can see the e-mail exists in the junk folder. Shouldn't the server since i requested to check for new mail sent me even the junk mails also so i decided which to delete which to keep?

Hi,

in IMAP4 you can subscribe to any subfolder. POP3 will only give you the INBOX.

Thank you so much. That solves my question. We had the user today complaining not receiving an email. We do not want them to setup their account as imap on outlook since they will see mirroring of their mail from server and our users have the habbit to think that every email is high importance and at some point e-mail server storage was low. We have the option leave a copy on server for few days . I was able to find the e-mail in his junk folder by logging to the mail server. Thanks again

Note: Edited I made correction with my explanation
