Excellent news, thanks for sharing!!!

I noticed they finally put a banner in the SharePoint admin center saying they are building a new one.  So maybe some day we can actually manage the sites that users are setting up left and right.  (With a third of them having the word "test" in the name.)  OK, so at least we do have some group management tools available now, but still ...

And now the other shoe drops .... the reason for all that extra storage.
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/SharePoint/Versioning-update-to-Document-Libraries-in-team-sites-in/td-p/194211

No more turning off Versioning.  A setting of a minimum of 100 versions on every library in the tenant.  And the libraries that have been created in the past i-don-know-how-long-theve-been-doing-this with the default of 500 versions will keep that 500 versions setting.  You can set any library to a number more than 100, you just cant set it to less than that, and you can't disable it.  Nice!

And as a side note, they mention the ability to Restore your OneDrive which was released relatively recently and relatively quietly.

We ran into an issue trying to use that in that the utility seems to have a serious problem with overwriting existing folders. If you're trying a restore operation within OneDrive and you're trying to restore "FolderA" contents, it's best to first rename or delete FolderA before trying the restore operation.  Of course they could have that issue fixed by the time you read this, but it's just something we've run into.

Cheers!
