This box is lurking in my lower right hand corner of the screen.  Couldn't do a paste of a screen shot, so this will have to do.

Log me in automatically on each visit doesn't seem to work.  What is a visit equal to?

Lisa,

I use a local account to login as opposed to Facebook.
I also use Chrome as my preferred browser.

It seems to deal with the logins/ remembering the logins for me, so I don't know what your going through right now.
I'm also in my hating facebook phase for various reasons (stay on the SD card on my phone you pig dog f.......)

So I'll have to defer to the others for the time been, sorry.

Wobble_Wobble,

I associated my FB account later, after creating a login on this site.
I use Chrome also.

This box appears on this website only.  No other site.

I don't know what these problems are about either.  Just thought I'd tell you of this weird issue.

I'm sorry you're having issues with FB.  I am cautious with FB and have my FB profile pretty locked down (or as much as is possible without deleting my FB profile altogether).  I enjoy it for entertainment and keeping up with long lost High School friends, work friends and family.  [smile]

Lisa, it may just be because I am the most junior of junior FaceBook developers.  I promise, once the alligators are down to ankle-level, I'll look into it, and I seriously apologize for the hassle.

Lisa,

It may be a Chrome issue...  I noticed that I could not log into Chat.  I entered my name PW etc... but it would just close the window.  I tried hitting the save credential box and still nothing.  I opened IE and it worked first time, then after a refresh Chrome was working as well.

Try it in IE and see if that makes a difference...

I have not tried FB since 1) I don't trust FB   2) we are blocked from anything related to FB...

Actually, I just realized that this box is sitting where chat used to be.  it will not go away.

Also, thank you Mark.  My intention was to alert administrators about this, not to create a hassle for you.

Lisa,

Is this the same in Chrome & IE..?

Can you clear the cache of each..?

If it is still there can you send me a screenshot so that I can try to reproduce..?

Thank You!

Ok, somebody changed something!  Fess up!  Who was it??

Where the login to facebook box used to be is Chat - again!

So, this is fixed.  Thank you whoever you are! [biggrin]

I've been busy and just checked back.  I didn't try to use IE.  IE is being abandoned by M$ and that's enough of a reason for me not to open it, ever again.

Thank you Tim for responding.

That's not really true.  IE 10 and earlier are being abandoned.  IE11's just fine.

Oh, I did not know that.  That's weird.  Why would they do that?

Facebook is evil.  I deactivated my account nearly a year ago.

Go on, I urge you to do the same.

Long story, but basically browsers are the "Operating Systems of the Internet." If you want to visit my site, you're not running Windows to do it, you're running Chrome, Safari, Edge or whatever.

Just as you wouldn't surf the Internet with Windows 98, older IEs are an increasingly bad tool for surfing the web.

That's a very simplified answer, as many orgs have tuned their intranet sites to IE, which is why this is controversial.

Does that help?
