Depends on whether you have SA or not.

James, depends on whether you have Software Assurance. If you have SA, then the user has the following rights:

Customer may run up to four Instances in Virtual OSEs and one Instance in the Physical OSE locally on devices licensed for Windows 10/8.1 Pro or Enterprise, or Windows 7 Professional or Enterprise. If all of the Instances permitted to run in Virtual OSEs locally are used, then Customer may use the Instance in the Physical OSE only to host and manage the Virtual OSEs.

It's licensed per user in this instance, not per device. So whoever is the primary user licensed for that PC can use the VM installed on that device, as long as they have Software Assurance. So kind of sounds as though if you have a computer with Windows 10 licensed to you, someone else can't use the VM on that computer.

Joe et al:

I'd like to get my hands on the Windows 10 Enterprise version and I'm willing to shell out for the 5 cals or whatever it is.  Can someone help out with that beyond pointing me to the web site and telling me good luck.  If I need a partner, poo-bah, third party can you contact me offline and help facilitate that?

AFA seats, probably need 1 for a physical machine, 1 for VM and that will probably be it.

Thanks,

Jim

Bumping this again.

Can anyone put me in touch with someoone who can sell me the "starter" enterprise license pack for Windows 10 enterprise?

I've wasted hours and days chasing my tail trying to do this through the "official" process. CDW, Dell, and even Microsoft can't seem to figure out how to do this?

Just send a message to me via my profile and we'll connect offline.

Thanks,

Jim Adgate
