Hey --

I'm stuck.

I really need to get my hands on three Win 10 Enterprise licenses.  But trying to read about all of the bits and pieces, as well as the fact that no one seems to know how much a Win 10 Enterprise license costs, and that apparently three is too small a number for Microsoft to deign to sell to is driving me crazy.  Also, I don't want MDOP or any of that other jazz -- I just need some Enterprise boxes to test Win 10 things out on.  (I've been getting by on my MSDN copies but I'd rather be legit.)

So...
  • Is there a way to get three Enterprise licenses?
  • What should I expect them to cost, roughly?
  • What's the easiest way to buy them?
And please don't point me to a web site; I'm hoping to hear from people who've actually done it.  Thanks in advance!

So you need a LAR to sell you the licenses.
You will buy 5 licenses the min they will sell. 3 enter licenses and 2 dummy licenses ( to fill the quota)
Cost, no idea right now but if you wish I can make the query.
That should deal with the purchase.

Another, perhaps simpler option to consider is the Intune route.  $11/month per machine gets you Intune (take it or leave it) but that price includes Win 10 enterprise for the machine...

It's what we do for a small client with 20 machines.  Far easier than dealing with volume licensing, especially for small quantities.

Where would I buy Intune licenses, Wes?  Apologies for the stupidity. [smile]

Well that sucks, looks like they retired the "Intune with Software Assurance" option last year.  You can still renew it if you have it but can't add any further licenses.  Annoying.

Guess you'll just have to call up a CDW or the like and have them set up a volume licensing agreement?  Or if you're an MS partner (probably wouldn't be hard for you to become one) you get 10 or 20 or so to use for free.

I appreciate the answer, Wes, thanks.  The whole "partner" thing used to be easy but I don't sell stuff so I can't qualify.

It is downright RETARDED that Microsoft won't just shut up and take my money. [smile]

You can buy MAPS with any state of your partnership. You get Win 10 Ent.. I did. The partner site needs work though, it's like a maze.

Sorry, Ton, what's MAPS?  There's a guy wants to sell me 5 MAKs for Win 10 Enterprise for $340 a pop. [smile]

But do you have to actually BE a business?  Can I use it for self training to support my career?  Can I list myself as a Consultant without being accused of some violation..?
