I was looking for a specific "classic" group policy recently. The policy in question is to disable printer redirection.

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Printer Redirection > Do not allow client printer redirection

The policy is present under the Default Domain Policy. However, when creating a new GPO none of the classic administrative templates are present.

Is there a way to show the classic templates for any policy on the domain.

"Classic Administrative Templates" show only when a .ADM file is found within the SYSVOL storage for a given GPO. However, that policy you mention above is definitely present in current (and even past) ADMX files so not clear why you wouldn't be seeing it.

It looks like the Central Store only has Office templates.  I believe I have have to add cthe .admx templates to the Central Store.

That is correct. If you have a Central Store, it needs to be fully populated because once it's detected, it's always used.
