After having a bad expirience with the AD Replication Status Tool (see http://newforum.minasi.com/post/ad-replication-status-tool-7966555?highlight=replication&pid=1293390972), here is the next step.

A few months ago I installed the tool on my DC's with Win2016, worked without a problem :-) .

Today I get an error :
001.JPG

So I downloaded and tried to install the new version. I tried, without success :-(

The installer just simply closes without an error and without installing the new version.
Why oh why is the old version of that tool limited in time and the new version incompatible ?

Does anybody has an alternative ? Or a work around ?

This really is unacceptable...

Although it is supposed to work on Win7, it doesn't install on my Win7 machine.
Did anyone already installed it on Win7 or Win10 ?

What suprises me the most is that we've been having this discussion for literally years and nobody just broke out VisualStudio and replicated the functionality. I mean, it's not like there was magic in that tool, it's just bloody convenient. If only I could write C, I would readily sacrifice a day's worth of vacation time and provide a real, non-expiring freeware...

I fully agree with that, Evgenij.  I am even willing to pay a (small) fee for a tool like that.

BUT, it seems like the tool is installed on my Win7 [smile] , except that when I run it, it give me the "will expire in 17 day(s) and 1 hour(s)" message. [mad]
Although I downloaded it today.

Spent the last 7 weeks migrating EA/ ASM to CSP/ ARM.

Its all in OMS now (hahahaha) and the migration is flawless (hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha)

After many, many talks with Willem I use the below commands...

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/389thoughts/2016/05/01/force-replication-throughout-the-forest/#comment-75

Commands you can also use

repadmin /syncall /AdeP - Force Replication

repadmin /showrepl - local replication

repadmin /replsum  - replication partners

dcdiag /q - dcdiag / only errors

My thanks to Willem for answering all silly questions from me...

I did fight the fight for the AD replication status tool, and we we got it released again and it will always be time locked.....
In 2006 my mentor said Microsoft wanted to rent us Outlook...In 2020 will they rent us AD.
Maybe not the AD we want, but as Henry Ford said, you can have it in any colour you want as long as its black.

It seems like a updated version is available, did not yet tested it though.
