I would like to say that our fearless leader already claimed Ireland was the best little country in the world to do business in....

I did not like Obama, at all, but as our President, I supported him. Too bad the left in America does not understand this concept.
I like what Trump has done so far.
I do not like how the left has been lying about him daily.

Something I would like you to think about:
1. President Obama did something very similar in 2011, yet no one protested (The Obama-signed law contains provisions that restrict travel to the United States for people who lived in or visited Iran, Iraq, Sudan, or Syria since March 2011. They must have a visa to enter the United States; they can’t use what is known as the Visa Waiver Program, which allows 90-day U.S. visits to other foreign visitors. Found here: http://www.politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2017/feb/07/reince-priebus/were-7-nations-identified-donald-trumps-travel-ban/ )
2. Trump put his Executive Order in force on a Friday. By the end of flights on Sunday, Homeland Security stated around 346,000 foreigners came to the U.S. Of that number, only 109 were delayed and most of them were allowed after further checks...so, people broke windows, burned cars, burned buildings because the Presidents order stopped less than 20 people? People are just stupid!
3. The 9th District Court of Appeals is known for Judicial activism instead of doing what they are paid to do - interpret the law. Everyone I know who follows what goes on in our government knew they would vote it down. The actual law is very definitive and easy to understand. It is 8 U.S. Code 1182(f), which reads:
"(f)Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate. Whenever the Attorney General finds that a commercial airline has failed to comply with regulations of the Attorney General relating to requirements of airlines for the detection of fraudulent documents used by passengers traveling to the United States (including the training of personnel in such detection), the Attorney General may suspend the entry of some or all aliens transported to the United States by such airline."

This court has been overturned in their decisions anywhere between 60 to 80% each year in the last 5 years. In my opinion, they should be removed from the bench because they are not interpreting the law, which is what they are paid to do.

What left?  What's considered 'left in America' is not left at all.  True leftists are not represented in the media nor in the government.  Bernie Sanders was not a true socialist/leftist either.  Had he been a true socialist, he would have explained how American imperialism & regime change has caused domestic economic stagnation & destruction around the world.  Much like charity, regime change begins at home.

It's nice that Trump wants to disturb the order of dirty business. I'm all for that but his solution is more Trickle Down Theory, the same as Reagan.  It didn't work then & it won't work now.  "Make America Great Again" was Ronald Reagan's slogan bought & paid for by Trump. Did you know that?

Where did it all go wrong?  A British economist, John Maynard Keynes, convinced President Roosevelt that he could 'temporarily' run deficit spending, to get America out of the depression.  It was not WWII that saved the economy. That worked until around 1975 - 1980 when the rate of profit was no longer greater than the accumulation of debt.  No problem!  Just raise the debt ceiling again & again &..........  Both parties agreed on that.  It used to be that the Democrats would leave a few more crumbs on the table for the people but that has changed as well.  As long as America remains a grow or die, every man for himself society, domestic economic stagnation will continue.

I do not understated the US political system.
To my humble eyes, it looks like the same side of a coin....with some capable extremist (but they are not, they are old school conservatives)

To be honest our own is the same side of a coin....with some capable extremist (but they are not, they are old school conservatives)

But it all looks too too funny.
This is the worlds most powerful man, with access to blow up the world, and he uses twitter to give policy, vocalise  and attack the judiciary as well as everyone else.
The president or President should be above it all.
He is the CEO of the country, the leader of 325,573,547 people.
Ranting about walls, retailers, judges, bad decisions - adds what to his CV?

To be up front
I protested George W Bush II when he came to Ireland and said there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
I also protested the rendition flights thru Shannon airport 2006 to 2012.

Edit - corrected my spelling

Most Americans don't understand it either although they think that they do. United we stand in confusion.

Well said. So you really do understand it.

Not exactly. While he may have access to destroy the world, he is not the only leader who can do that.  Aside from that, it's really the CIA, Bilderberg & maybe Skull & Bones who are running things.

Don't feel bad.  George W Bush suckered a lot of people with the weapons of mass destruction thing.  The weapons of mass destruction became a weapon of mass distraction.

How?  Consider this hypothetical situation.   You & I are international oil dealers & your son, Osama Bin Wobble demolished 2 of my buildings.  It would be stupid for me to kill him.  Instead it would be better to chase him into the mountains of Pakistan, point the finger at someone else & invade their country.  That's exactly what happened.  Along came George W Obama with his list of 7 countries none of which included & still doesn't include the main country that supports terrorism.  Can anyone say Saudi Arabia?  No, don't say that.  It will ruin the oil business.

Phil-n-JaxFL, I'd be interested to have your thoughts on an aspect of the 9th Circuit Court's affirmation of the temporary injunction against the travel ban. It would seem to me that their decision here was based on constitutional arguments, in which case 1182(f) would not be relevant, as legislation cannot undermine your constitutional rights. Would that not be the case?

I feel like both sides of the argument are doing a poor job of presenting a balanced case, so I suspect there are aspects I haven't had a chance to consider! Hence my interest in your thoughts.

Indeed, the right has become so ridiculously extreme in this country that the "left" is really fairly centered (not that there isn't an extreme left, they just aren't really represented in federal government the way the tea party is due to their successful gerrymandering).  There are moderate, sane republicans who are all for conservative fiscal policy who have been left in the lurch as their party has become coopted by uneducated idiots who think that democracy means their ignorance is as good as others' education.

The clown car cabinet that a large swath of ignorant voters in this country have installed is finally starting to unravel.  Only took 3 weeks, but General Flynn is out tonight after resigning!  Let's hope Stephen Bannon follows him out the door before long, followed by Trump himself.  I don't agree with Pence's politics and his overt injection of religion into the political sphere, and I think he will be bad for us domestically, but at least he will be a somewhat stable figure and is far less likely to get me blown up.

Regarding the travel ban (is it a ban?  Trump and co. can't make up their mind), regardless of where it ends up ultimately, I hope all can agree it was horribly written and rolled out.  Not to mention Trump has constantly shot himself in the foot with his off the cuff comments (not to mention his tweets).  Put your goddamn phone down and start pretending you have the capacity to be the slightest bit presidential.  All these comments and tweets form a body of evidence that the courts will be forced to consider when the ban comes before them.  It is absolutely critical that the judiciary check the president's power as congress clearly is not despite their mandate to do so.  The sadly hilarious part is that the right spent 8 years demonizing Obama for nonexistent power grabs and bemoaning every minor executive order, and we haven't heard a peep as Trump EO's his way through 3 full weeks (while also fitting in two golfing vacations, which was another thing the right absurdly complained about nonstop with Obama).

So the BBC are blocked from press briefings and even Fox News is objecting to their and all the other press organisations removal.

I don't know how true the reports are, but apparently Trump complained a lot about Obama's family trips yet he's been in Florida three weekends.

Very much seems like do as I say not as I do...

If the media were smart, they would boycott the Whitehouse & everything that it says & does.  One of them already did that.  I forgot who it was.
